Healthy Body Means Healthy Hair

Stephenie Meyer

We all want to have healthy hair, beautifully shiny hair that is a crowning jewel. The shampoo and hair product companies milk that desire for all it is worth by endlessly trying to convince us that we need more and more products, better and better shampoo, this treatment and that treatment and on it goes. The truth of the matter is that if you strive to have a healthy body, you will have healthy hair as well. Overall good health shows in your skin and hair as well as in your health and wellness.

Healthy Hair

A balanced diet that includes good food and lots of water is what it takes to have a healthy body and the healthy hair that goes right along with it. Water is a big key to having overall good health and a big factor in healthy hair. Hair that is properly hydrated is silky and full of life. Do not wait until you are thirsty to drink, for that is when your body is saying it is out of water and already in need. Top off your tank often by drinking lots of water throughout the course of each day. Besides water, there are other things that help your hair to be healthy and shiny.

Vitamins

Lots of vitamin A in your diet means that you will have a healthy scalp and skin. Carrots have a lot of vitamin A, mostly well known for supporting eyesight and night vision but that support overall good health as well. The B and C vitamins help with good circulation and the growth of strong hair. Sources of these two vitamins are foods such as fruits, cereals, bread, vegetables and milk. Vitamin E is essential for shiny hair and good skin. The foods that harbor vitamin E are nuts, wheat, leafy green vegetables and brown rice.

Protein

Protein is a necessity in any healthy diet. Found in foods such as meat, fish, cheese and milk, protein gives your hair strength and vitality.

Minerals

By eating red meat and dark green vegetables, you are taking in iron, which is necessary if you hair is to get enough oxygen. If you have a tendency to have low iron, you can take iron supplements as well as trying to eat foods rich in iron.

Exercise

In order to have optimal good health overall, getting some exercise is important. If you exercise often, eat a balanced meal rich in proteins, vitamins and minerals then your hair will be as healthy as the rest of your body.

Healthy hair goes hand in hand with a healthy body. If you are not taking care of your body, it will show in the condition of your hair. If you are striving to live a healthy lifestyle complete with frequent exercise, healthy food and plenty of sleep, you will be able to boast a healthy body as well as shiny, gorgeous hair. With such beautiful hair, it will be a wonder if you do not get offers for hair product advertisements!
